Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN)
Status: Full-time and Part-time
Location: Various locations in Calgary
Responsibilities:
- duties include providing medical, physical,
and emotional support to clients and families in their home
- medication administration;
- bowel care
- colostomy care; and
- catheter care.
Experience/Qualification:
- must be qualified, registered Licensed
Practical Nurse; and
- demonstrated experience working with
individuals with disabilities, particularly in a community-based setting.
Abilities:
- analytical;

- initiative.
Personal Suitability:

Personal Care Aide (PCA)
In-Home Support Services is looking for full
and part-time personal care aides to join our dynamic team. As our
business continues to expand, there are opportunities in all areas of the
city. Currently, we particularly require staff for the North West
of Calgary. A variety of hours are available.
Some of the clients that we support require
TLC, some have more intensive needs: personal care, meal preparation, bathing
assistance, housekeeping and medication reminders.
Status: Full & part-time, shifts vary from
morning, evening weekends (Contract positions of 35-40 hours highly probable)
Location: Various locations in Calgary
Responsibilities:
- provide physical and emotional support to
seniors in their home; and
- light home-making may be required.
Experience/Qualifications:
- candidates will have one year of experience
or post secondary education in a related field;
- demonstrated experience working with
seniors, adults, or children with disabilities;
- experience working with adults with brain
injuries or developmental disabilities is not essential but is an asset;
and
- First Aid & CPR required within the
first three months of employment.

Personal Care Aide (PCA)
Status: Relief (opportunity for regular
part-time hours)
Location: Downtown Calgary. 4 blocks from LRT. Parking available.
Boardwalk Project is a unique community living
alternative for adults. Six adults live independently in their own
apartments, each requires individualized support. They access 24-hour
staff as needed and as scheduled to assist them with their physical and daily
living needs.
Responsibilities:
- provide personal care including bowel/bladder
routines;
- full physical care;
- use of mechanical lift;
- meal preparation; and
- homemaking.
Experience/Qualifications:
- demonstrated experience working with adults
with disabilities;
- at least one year of experience or post
secondary education in a related field; and
- First Aid & CPR required within the first
three months of employment.
Abilities:
- clear communication;
- time management; and
- interpersonal skills.
Personal Suitability:
- must be able to work independently;
- adaptable and patient;
- energetic and creative; and
- person-centred focus.
Support Worker
Status: Casual/Part-time
Location: Various locations in Calgary
Responsibilities:
- duties include providing short-term for
children and adults with disabilities in the families' home; and
- to provide an engaging environment for
children.
Experience/Qualification:
- diploma or degree in Community Rehabilitation,
Social Work or a related field, or some post-secondary education in this
area;
- demonstrated experience working with children
with disabilities;
- First Aid & CPR required within the first
three months of employment; and
- Medication Administration, Nonviolent Crisis
Intervention, and PARC are offered and must be taken within the first three
months of employment.

- interpersonal skills; and
- communication.
